Starward Octave Barrels 2026 Release: Yalumba Octave Single Malt

Second Starward release matured in Yalumba Octave barrels: Australian single malt fully matured in fresh and charred 100L Octave casks that previously held Yalumba's The Octavius Shiraz. Filled in 2018 and matured a further five years since the first release. 30% fresh Octaves, 70% charred. 700ml at 48% ABV, $159 AUD, from Starward's Projects line. Tasting notes: raspberries, vanilla and red liquorice on the nose; rhubarb, date and coconut on the palate with a long, velvety-tannin finish.
