Tenkyo Kaze 921 First Edition 2026
Kaze 921 First Edition 2026 is a limited blended whisky from Japan's Tenkyo Distillery in Bandai, Fukushima, released annually on 21 September — the birthday of late founder Shunsuke Koike (1993–2022). Only 921 bottles are produced. This year's edition centres on two richly matured Pedro Ximénez sherry casks (one American oak, one European oak) vatted with whisky from the Kaze Solera System matured in Aizu. Bottled at 61.7% ABV in 700ml, natural colour, non-chill filtered. The label is handmade Izugahara washi paper by artisan Tetsuya Takizawa incorporating barley straw from Aizu-grown barley, with an Aizu lacquerware (ishime-nuri) stopper by lacquer artist Manami Komatsu, presented in a gift box. Sales open on the Tenkyo online shop from 10:00 JST on 21 September 2026 at ¥27,500 including tax.
